Novanet Express

The “Request a Loan” or “Request a Copy” options in the Novanet catalogue can be used to request books and photocopies from Novanet member libraries /wp-content/uploads/2011/03/member_libraries.html

This service, commonly known as Novanet Express, is available only to registered Novanet library patrons (faculty, staff and students of the Novanet member institutions and Nova Scotia residents who are 18 years or older). Registration can take place at any of the Novanet Libraries. Faculty, staff and students will need a current university or college ID card to register. Nova Scotia residents may use their current public library card or receive a Novanet off campus borrower’s card. Two pieces of identification, including one which shows proof of Nova Scotia residence is required to register for membership.

Novanet Express is free from most Novanet libraries; however please ask about charges when you register your card.

How to place an order

  • Online from home or library workstation
  • Search for the item in the Novanet catalogue. Click on the item title. Click on "All locations".
  • To order the loan of a book, click on the "Request a loan" option next to the location from which you wish to order the item. It is not possible to request delivery of material owned by the pickup library
  • To order a photocopy of an item, click on "Request a photocopy” then complete the details for the particular item which you want copied. Please note that Copyright prohibits the copying of more than one article per issue of a journal or one chapter from a book.
