Tuesday, August 26

1:00 pm – Alma Demo by Ex Libris Staff

Speakers from Ex Libris will conduct a walk through of Alma.

Novanet staff will conduct a presentation for where we are in the timeline and answer questions.

Wednesday, August 25

1:00 pm – Alma Analytics

Compared to Aleph, Alma will have many new reports for staff to explore. Come listen to three members of the Memorial University Libraries team about the different reports they use.

Relais

Open discussion on resource sharing in Alma. Topics will include Relais integration, basic workflows, holds, resources sharing groups etc.

Cataloguing

Minnesota State completed a migration from Aleph to Alma in 2019 with their consortium MnPALS. The process for incorporating acquisitions and cataloguing workflows will be discussed.

Electronic Resources Management (ERM)

Attendees will learn how Alma can assist in managing electronic resources.

Thursday, August 26

1:00 pm – Alma Q & A Panel Discussion

This panel is made up of three individuals who have experienced an Alma implementation. These individuals know those feelings of anticipation and dread that come with a new system. Ask questions about their experiences.

Heads of the Implementation Working Groups will provide an update of the projects that each group have been working on and where they are in their progress.

3:30 pm – Green Monster going away party

As many know this transition to Alma means saying goodbye to the green Novanet catalogue, or the Green Monster as many refer to it. This will be a living wake of sorts where participants will be encouraged to share short stories and give words of thanks. Prizes will be awarded to be mailed out at a later point.
